The Wolves
An Interdisciplinary Work by Pouria Khadem, Sayeh Parsaei,Parviz Parastui & Kaveh Abedin
The Wolves is an interdisciplinary work based on a poem by Fereydoon Moshiri, narrated by Parviz Parastui over music composed by Pouria Khadem, and visually interpreted through the paintings of Sayeh Parsaei, whose artworks draw directly from the narration.
The music is written for solo Persian microtonal piano and performed by Pouria Khadem, with immersive sound design crafted by Kaveh Abedin. The recording took place at Saba Studio by engineer Marjan Masoumi, followed by mixing and mastering by Kaveh Abedin. Cinematography was done by Amirhossein Asefi, with editing by Pouria Khadem.
The Wolves explores the presence of darkness and conflict within every human being.
It speaks of the wolves that live deep inside all of us — the wolf of jealousy, the wolf of greed, the wolf of anger, the wolf of deceit, and many others.
The work reflects on the necessity of restraining these inner wolves, warning that if we fail to keep them bound within ourselves, they will break their chains and tear apart both us and those around us.
Ultimately, The Wolves suggests that true goodness is achieved only by winning the internal battle against these forces — a reminder that being good is not easily attained, but must be consciously earned.
