Takhti Symphonic Poem, composed by Pouria Khadem in 2017, is a four-movement work, each shaped around a different facet of the character and life of Gholamreza Takhti—known as Jahan-Pahlevan—an iconic and deeply admired figure in modern Iranian history.
The first movement explores Takhti as a legendary symbol of chivalry. The second depicts him as a world-class Olympic wrestling champion, embodying athletic honor, technical mastery, and physical strength. The third highlights the profound emotional bond he shared with the people, a defining trait that elevated him to the status of a national hero. The fourth and final movement portrays his death and serves as a Requiem in his memory.
